The weekend of the Mega is host to another large event near Rosthern – the Back to Batoche Métis Festival.
This is a homecoming event for the Métis, and thousands flock to Batoche to take part in chuckwagon and chariot races, jigging competitions, and fiddling competitions. This is the best possible event to be immersed in Métis culture.
Browse through goods from Métis artisans and enjoy traditional Métis food while experiencing the celebration.
Right across the road from the Batoche National Historic Site, the Back to Batoche festival will complete your Métis cultural experience.
